Enrolling an External User through IVIP
To protect our students’ and professors’ privacy, people who are not affiliated with USC are unable to access Blackboard as a guest, student, auditor, or teaching assistant. However, USC does offer a mechanism for you to request that an external user be added to your Blackboard course as a co-instructor. To request a Blackboard co-instructor account for a guest who is not a currently-enrolled USC student or a currently-employed USC faculty and staff member, please contact your school’s or department’s IVIP administrator [http://itservices.usc.edu/iam/ivip/administrators/] and request that your school or department sponsor an iVIP account for your guest. You should also let the iVIP administrator know into which Blackboard course you would like your guest to be added.
Once the iVIP account request is processed by your school or department and the account is created, your guest will automatically be enrolled into your Blackboard course as a co-instructor and will have the same access rights and permissions within your Blackboard course that you do.
