Content Collection: Move Files

It is easy to move files and folders from one area of the content collection to another.

  1. While in the content collection, click Create Folder from the navigation bar. (NOTE: It is not necessary to create a new folder each time you want to move a file.)
  2. Enter a name for the Folder then,
  3. Click Submit to create the folder.
  4. Notice that the folder created in Step #3 is now visible and available for use.
  5. Before clicking the Move button, select each and every file and/or folder you wish to move.
  6. Click Move.
  7. Click Browse to select a destination folder.
  8. Select the folder into which you want to move the selected files.
  9. Click Submit to endorse the selection.
  10. Notice that the selected folder appears in the Destination box.
  11. If you are overwriting existing files, select this option.
  12. Click Submit to actually move the files to the selected location.
  13. Blackboard displays a Success: Item Moved prompt.
  14. The files are no longer in there original location.
